William Grossman

1929 - 2016

William Arthur “Bill” Grossman age 86 of Rogers City
passed away March 15, 2016 at home.

He was born August 12, 1929 in Bismarck Township
to William and Josephine (Luetzow) Grossman,

Bill graduated from Rogers City High School in 1946. He was married to
Ruth Karsten on December 22, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He was a lifelong member of the St. James Lutheran Church and
confirmed at St. James on June 13, 1943. Mr. Grossman was president
and treasurer at St. James for many years. He was an active member and
loved to sing in the choir, Bill was an entrepreneur who started his own
business, Grossman Forest Products Inc. He retired in 1996, spending
most of his time in his workshop. He found his niche, bowl turning, in
which many were sold and can be found around the world now. Bill loved
to fish, hunt, pick mushrooms, and bowl.

Mr. Grossman is survived by:
his wife, Ruth;
4 children, Michael Grossman of Rogers City,
David (Laura) Grossman of Rogers City,
Lori (Dennis) Dziesinski of Alpena, and
Timothy Grossman of Rogers City;
4 grandchildren, Robert (Amy) Grossman, Anthony Grossman,
Megan (Michael) Schleben, and Jonathan Dziesinski;
great granddaughter, Ellie Ann Schleben; and
great granddaughter to be, Saige Ruth Grossman.

He was preceded in death by:
his parents, William and Josephine;
siblings, Renata Oliver, Robert (Infant), Esther (Infant), and
Lenard (Infant).

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday, March 17th
from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation will resume at St. James Lutheran Church on Friday,
March 18th from 12:00 noon through time of his service at 1:00 p.m.
with Rev. Lloyd Ziebarth officiating.

Interment will follow the St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church
or Hospice of the Sunrise Shore in memory of Bill Grossman,
