Virginia Rosmys

1923 - 2014

Virginia Rosmys, age 91 of Rogers City,
passed away peacefully on April 24, 2014
at Rogers City Tendercare.,

She was born April 15, 1923 in Rogers City
to Alex and Martha (Kapala) Kandow.

Virginia moved to Detroit in 1941, In 1942 she started working at the
Dodge Main Plant. During the Second World War she was a drill press
operator working on B-29 engine parts. Virginia returned to Rogers City
in 1945 and married Stanley Rygwelski in December of that year. She
worked at the Rogers City Hospital for many years and was a member
of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She enjoyed
crafts, attending TOPS meetings and gardening.

She is survived by:
6 children, Shirley (Harry) Goebel of Rogers City,
Kenneth Rygwelski of Trenton,
Donald (Helen) Rygwelski of Presque Isle,
Mary (Kenneth) Byers of Alpena,
Mark (Cathrine) Rygwelski of Gaylord, and
Sherri (Ronald) Jaracz of Gaylord;
11 grandchildren;
12 great grandchildren;
1 sister, Germaine Wenderlich of Livonia.

Virginia was preceded in death by:

her first husband, Stanley Rygwelski;
daughter, Connie Brzezinski;
3 brothers, Arthur, Chester, and Gerald Kandow;
second husband, Edward Rosmys.

Per Gina’s request, private family services will take place.

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to
Hospice of the Sunrise Shore.
